Discounting and Long-Run Behavior: Global Bifurcation Analysis of a Family of Dynamical Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper is concerned with the relationship between the discount rate and the nature of long-run behavior in dynamic optimization models. The theory is developed under two conditions. The first is history independence, which rules out multiple limit sets. The second is a condition that avoids the reversion to a stable steady state, as the discount factor is lowered, once cycles have emerged. These conditions appear to be the minimal restrictions that would allow analysis by a bifurcation diagram. The results are illustrated by two well-known examples in this literature, due to Sutherland and Weitzman Samuelson. Bifurcation analysis and dynamics of a Lorenz –type dynamical system
./files/site1/files/0Abstract1.pdfIn this paper we consider a continues Lorenz – type dynamical system. Dynamical behaviors of this system such as computing equilibrium points, different bifurcation curves and computation of normal form coefficient of each bifurcation point analytically and numerically. In particular we derived sufficient conditions for existence of Hopf and Pitchfork bifurcati...

In the present paper, the dynamical snap-through of a preloaded micro-sensor is analyzed. This behavior is linked to analyzing bifurcation behavior of the micro structure in a suitable framework. Effec...
متن کاملDynamical Behavior of a Rigid Body with One Fixed Point (Gyroscope). Basic Concepts and Results. Open Problems: a Review
The study of the dynamic behavior of a rigid body with one fixed point (gyroscope) has a long history. A number of famous mathematicians and mechanical engineers have devoted enormous time and effort to clarify the role of dynamic effects on its movement (behavior) – stable, periodic, quasi-periodic or chaotic. The main objectives of this review are: 1) to outline the characteristic features of...

In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic system of equations, a type of nuclear ssion reactor is solved analytically and numerically. Considering that the direct solution of three-dimensional dynamical systems analysis and more in order to determine the stability and instability, in terms of algebraicsystems is dicult. Using certain situations in mathematics called Hurwitz criterion, Necessary and ...
متن کاملNormal forms of Hopf Singularities: Focus Values Along with some Applications in Physics
This paper aims to introduce the original ideas of normal form theory and bifurcation analysis and control of small amplitude limit cycles in a non-technical terms so that it would be comprehensible to wide ranges of Persian speaking engineers and physicists. The history of normal form goes back to more than one hundreds ago, that is to the original ideas coming from Henry Poincare. This tool p...
